I can offer proofreading and editing for your writing. Whether it is something as informal as a blog post, or something more formal such as a manuscript for a journal article or book publication, I can bring considerable experience and an eye for detail to your project.
I have several years of experience writing and editing on behalf of Fallen Rook Publishing, as the editor-in-chief. Furthermore, I have written articles for publication in a variety of magazines and journals, and have provided proofreading and editing services for both journal articles and nonfiction books.

Proofreading is a general reading of the work, to correct simple errors. It does not involve anything to do with style, structure, or form (this would be copy editing), or improving the substance or correctness of the work (this would be content editing).
Copy editing will typically improve the style, form, correctness, and consistency of the language.
Content editing will attempt to find and correct factual errors, and will make sure any attached bibliography is correct. It deals with the substance of the writing, but does not address the presentation.
Line editing is the process of making sure the piece reads well and is a pleasure to read, rather than being heavy-going or dull or sounding unnatural.
I charge a minimum fee of £30 for any editing task.
