Liverpool HEMA is the historical fencing club at which I currently teach, based in Liverpool, in the north west of England.
Our main area of study is “gemeinfechten” (common fencing) with the two-handed longsword, focusing on the late 15th century and the 16th century sources from the Holy Roman Empire. More experienced practitioners will eventually move on to study the method of fencing attributed to Johannes Liechtenauer, according to the 15th century sources.
